Editing our opening sequence Day 10

For this lesson, we had booked a time slot with Michael, our tech guy for some help to improve our text, this was also one of things said on the feedback, for us to improve upon.

The font before was basic and boring and did not show the standard of work we are aiming to acheive, the programme we were shown and used was livetype, the reason being is that it is reasonably easy to use, there are a variety of fonts, there are a number of conventions and transitions to add and you can really play around with the text until you find something suitable, after a while we had chosen the style and made one style type for all the fonts showing consistency, it was very easy to add to final cut, just a matter of drag and drop.

Overall just by putting a bit of time into the text, it has made such a big difference, even the music fits well and so does the genre, the text is now vibrant and works really well and this shows the standard of work we are aiming to achieve,

Editing our opening sequence Day 9

We came back after half term and went straight into the editing and we did some minor improvements and added the titles (which were basic and amateur), we are extremely close to the final. In our next lesson we went around analysing the videos of our peers and they analysed ours so we hopefully got helpful feedback to improve our work.

Editing our opening sequence Day 8

With the feedback we had got previously, we took the advice and suggestions and had taken these two in to consideration for the completion of editing and are have now basically finished, advice previously given included, trimming some clips and this we found was effective and helped, although, there were other things, we had taken a few things in to consideration ourselves as well, this included making the audio to fit best with our footage also, titles and credits, fixing it mostly ourselves except from one or two little parts were we asked Michael our technician to help, also editing music was done ourselves mainly with help from Shehryar, as he had learnt and edited before.
Overall though, we didnt have much to do in our lesson except the minor editing and tweaks. The lesson proved very succesful even though we had made minor adjustments this gave us the satisfaction because you usually do this towards the end and so we felt that we are on the verge of completing, making our opening sequence and so were quite proud of oursleves.

Editing our opening sequence Day 7

So we have got out video to 2 minutes and 25 seconds, and we just got a lot of in depth feedback from our teacher indicating to us on what parts to keep and how to resolve other problems. We then got a overall all feedback from our other teacher who looked at the video as the audience. There were no major improvements, we were told to trim a few milliseconds of each scene and bring out the brightness and sharpness of a few other scenes. We are close to the ending of our editing, only have titles and credits to add.

Editing our opening sequence Day 6

These are the pictures of me(Vithush) & (Ashad) editing and making some minor improvements to our storyboard.

Editing our opening sequence Day 5

So the editing went well and we are nearing the end, made a few more improvements. The one main problem we had was the length of our video because the brief said it should be two minutes maximum however our video was four minutes long. We didn't want to remove any second of the video, but somehow we got the video down to 3 minutes but a looong way to go.

Editing our opening sequence Day 4

Well the editing went well put the footage together and placed the music track, got a feel for the video. Some minor improvement to be done but we still have around 2 weeks so we are going to drag the editing to the last day making it spotless.

Editing our opening sequence Day 3

So we have finally got the ending on tape, now to import it......
Finishing importing but we have encountered a massive problem, the footage is corrupted, not good!!
The video has a corrupted line through the video. Thankfully the technician (Michael) helped us solve the problem by importing it again through the larger camera.

Now to edit the finale !!!!!!!!!

We have also found the correct Royalty Free music which will fit our chase.

Editing our opening sequence Day 2

So we have put most of the footage on the timeline ready to be trimmed in detail however we are getting a clear image of what it looks like, we have a plan to put in music after we have placed all the footage on the timeline. One problem we have came across so far is the length of the video so far, it has reached 2 min which isn't good because we still have the ending to put in which could taken more than a minute so more work to be done.

Editing our opening sequence

Well before we shot the ending to our sequence, we started editing the first part using Final Cut. I (Vithush) did the editing with help from Shehryar and he also gave his opinions with Ashad. This was the first time we are using Final Cut so it was hard at first however because i was leading the editing i looked at the tutorials on how to use and i now have a clear idea on how to use the program.

So we are currently uploading the footage onto final-cut....

Shooting day 2

This is the ending to our opening sequence, overall we were proud of the shots we took and thought the movies came to a good ending. This is how we thought the movie should end, but now most of the work is in the editing suite. FINAL CUT HERE WE COME !!!!!!!!

Shooting

AVS PRODUCTIONS

This is Vithush(shooting) and Shehryar (shooting) while Ashad is the main character. Others came to help us with the shooting.

Movie Setting

This is when Vithush and Shehryar went looking for movie setting before we (group) shot the opening sequence. We thought we should get a visual idea of what type of shots we were going to do, this also gave us new ideas. During this process we came to find that some areas were off bounds for us to shoot and so we had to pick alternative areas.

Initial ideas

This video is what encouraged us to base our opening sequence around a chase, i found this very interesting because the number of different shots made it more than an ordinary chase. Looking at this video also gave us ideas on music, we wanted to get an idea of what type of music to play during the chase.

Group discussion

As you can see in the photo we are having a group discussion, Ashad is story-boarding while Shehryar is writing down the prop list.
